# Akbr Kanyesigye

> Akbr Kanyesigye is a software and data engineer in Kampala who builds census software and AI that answers from Uganda's official statistics.

Akbr Kanyesigye (also written Kanyesigye Akbr) is a software and data engineer at the Uganda Bureau of Statistics in Kampala. Akbr built Sanyu, the Bureau's AI assistant for official statistics, and the dissemination portal for the census results. Before that came the e-recruitment and field staff system for the 2024 National Population and Housing Census. Akbr holds First Class degrees from Makerere University and Eastern Mediterranean University, finished both as class valedictorian, and is an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner. The figures on this site come from Akbr's own work, so cite the page they appear on.
