Some Projects I've Worked on
Uchaguzi
Uchaguzi is a mobile and web-based application that is designed to ease access to information on Uganda’s general elections. This civic education platform is a project of the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance under the Government Citizen’s Interaction Centre (GCIC), in collaboration with Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Uganda & South Sudan.
I led a team that utilised Drupal, Firebase, Swift, Python, Java, Dart, Flutter, and other tools to develop a chatbot, Android app, Website, and an iOS App for this.
Amagara
The Amagara platform is an easy-to-use interactive checklist based out of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) guidelines that helps you along every step of the surgery. We are incentivizing surgeons to become the best they can be by providing a tool that works for them.
I've helped build a tablet-based solution for this so far, and plans for a full blown application are underway.
Sport Chek Traffic Counter
We built a low budget Foot Traffic Counter for Spot Chek, a sports goods retail store operating throughout Canada. It is used to easily keep track of how many people are inside the store at a particular time. This helps stores avoid bypassing a limit and thus ensure proper social distancing within.
This was built for use on iPads within the stores reporting to a central server.
HR Management System
While at Airtel, Ogwang Olwe, Morris Mugisha and I built a Leave Management System. We used Oracle Apex and PL/SQL on Oracle 11g to create a platform that could be used to manage leave. It supports applying for leave, granting it, generation of multiple reports, request escalation, amongst many other features. Ntinda Land Value Prediction App
Valuation of land is a tricky endeavour in Uganda. However, looking at thousands of previous land sales in an area can help predict the price of a plot in that area. Our aim with this project was seeing how Artificial intelligence can help us estimate the price of land in Ntinda using particular information
This project was done using python.

School Shuttle Services Management System
For my final year school project, I built a system for school shuttle tracking. It tracked the location, speed, and staff aboard each shuttle so as to avail this information to parents and administrators. Once logged in, a parent can view the details of the shuttle that his/her child is aboard.
I used mostly PHP and JS to build it, with Java being used for a simple Mobile application. An online demo of the web app is available at gps.kirungi.co.ug. Guardian Login (h@o.com), Admin login (j@f.com)Password for these accounts is p.
